Thomas McCarthy

Managing Director

McCarthy’s was founded in Peter’s Street, Tramore by Thomas McCarthy in 1990. Over the following 10 years the business grew and the site soon became too small. In 2000 Thomas found a suitable site at Riverstown, Tramore. He approached other local businessmen who also became interested in relocating. Several sites were sold by the Council and Riverstown Business Park started. Today McCarthy’s is situated in a purpose built facility at Riverstown Business Park and continues to expand to cater for the Home Heating, Building Supply and Gardening needs of our customers. Thomas has vast knowledge of all things Fuel and is always on hand to help when choosing products or looking for some information on different types of Fuel and Stoves.
Ashley McCarthy

Director

Ashley McCarthy has grown up with the business from a young age and graduated from Waterford Institute of Technology in 2012 with a BSc Honours Degree in Quantity Surveying. He now brings his skills to the company and is on hand to provide accurate materials quotations along with a vast knowledge of all of our product ranges . Ashley is responsible for all of McCarthy’s marketing activities, including advertisements and the management and updating of our website and social media pages.
Alan Kirk

Sales Executive

Alan Kirk joined the McCarthy’s team in 2012. Alan has over 20 years experience working in the building materials supply industry and learned his trade working for the Brooks Group in their various Waterford stores over the years. Alan is your go to man for all things construction and is McCarthy’s sales executive for our vast range of building materials, timber and insulation products. Alan is on hand in store for advice on different building materials along with getting you the best quote on the materials you need for your building job. Trade and Public customers welcome at McCarthy’s.
Caroline Hunt

Sales & Accounts

Caroline Hunt joined the McCarthy’s team in 2009. Caroline is in our accounts department and looks after our accounts payable and receivable. Caroline is on hand to provide you with information on our budget payment plan which is a standing order system that spreads the cost of your heating bills over 12 months. Eddie Power

Home Heating Oil Delivery Driver

Eddie Power started work at McCarthy’s in 1990 and has now been delivering heating oil to keep our customers warm and cosy for over 25 years. Eddie has a vast local knowledge of all areas in Waterford City and County. Eddie is well known in Tramore and further afield for providing a professional and friendly delivery service to all of our customers. Our custom built Scania Oil Truck is equipped with an electronic meter so you can be reassured that the amount of oil you ordered is the amount delivered.
