McCarthy’s Homevalue was founded by Thomas McCarthy in 1990 with humble beginnings: primarily as a fuel merchant operating from a small premise at Peter Street, Tramore, Co. Waterford.
As the business grew, Thomas relocated to a new purpose-built site at Riverstown Business Park, Tramore, Co. Waterford.
McCarthy’s became members of United Hardware in 2016 and shortly after saw the development of our Homevalue Hardware & D.I.Y Store.
With over 30 years of experience, Thomas has invaluable knowledge of all aspects of the business and remains a key part of the company.
When not working, Thomas can be found, cycling or sea swimming in the Guillamene, Tramore.
In 2023, Thomas completed the Tour De Flanders, a 270km cycle race in Belgium!
Ashley grew up with the business from a young age and has over 14 years of experience in the trade.
Ashley graduated from WIT in 2012 with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Quantity Surveying and played an integral part in the design, planning and opening of McCarthy’s new DIY and Hardware Store in 2018.
Ashley developed and continues to manage McCarthy’s Homevalue website, social media channels, and company marketing activities.
You might also catch Ashley in the shop or out on the road helping out with deliveries when the need arises.
